For the Gods’ Amusement is a paranormal romance series featuring gods from different pantheons.
1. Inescapable
Duty can be inescapable for everyone, even a god.
Sed might be a god, but that doesn’t mean he wants to live as one. That’s why he left his family years ago, and why he’s not looking forward to going back. The only reason he agrees is that as the protector of kingship, he’s needed to help the new king go through his coronation ceremony. Once that’s over, Sed has every intention of going home.
Mery never wanted or expected to be king. But he’s a descendant of the old pharaohs, and agreeing to sit on the throne means helping his family, so he doesn’t hesitate. Being king isn’t quite what he expected, though, and he suspects something is happening he doesn’t know about.
Once Sed gets to know Mery, he knows he can’t just leave as soon as the crown is on his head. Someone is plotting and trying to manipulate Mery, and Sed can’t abandon him when he needs him most.
The fact that he’s falling in love with Mery complicates everything.
Mery is the new king, while Sed is a god, albeit a minor one. Will Sed be able to keep him safe, or will they both lose everything they’d never thought they’d have?
2. Future Past
Sometimes it’s necessary to let the past go to have the future you want.
Jimmy didn’t exactly have a choice when Mery asked him to work for him. Now, he’s the king’s personal assistant, a job that complicates his already complicated life. He could go back home to the States, but here, he has friends and a future, and it’s time he left the past behind.
It works, until the past finds him.
Qebui has never been in love with a human. He’s not an important god, but he is a god, and he doesn’t believe he should love a human.
The problem is that he does.
Both Jimmy and Qebui have to face their past and come to terms with it if they want a future together, but sometimes it’s easier not to rock the boat. With Jimmy’s parents invading the palace and Loki asking Jimmy on a date, neither Jimmy nor Qebui will be able to continue burying their heads in the sand, but what will be the consequences if they finally act?
3. Unlikely Savior
Saving someone doesn’t always involve physical strength.
Sam doesn’t like gods. They’re arrogant and look at humans as if they’re beneath them, and maybe they are, but Sam has no problem letting them know what he thinks of them. He tries to stay away from them as much as possible, but it’s not always easy, since he works as a bartender at a trendy club.
Loki is used to people throwing themselves at him, be they humans or gods. Right now, he has too much on his mind to bother with any of them, what with his family members killing each other. Gods have always brought trouble, and his nephew Baldur’s death isn’t any different.
When Loki meets Sam, he can’t stay away, and no matter how much Sam tries to resist, he finds himself falling for the god, something he’d promised himself he’d never do. Things between them are going well, but the same can’t be said for the world around them, especially Loki’s family. Will they be enough to make Sam give up and push Loki away? Or will he be able to hold onto that love and maybe be the unlikely savior Loki needs?
4. Darkness Rising
Darkness is rising.
Ra retired thousands of years ago, when he decided it would be safer for his pantheon and the human world. He still believes that, but a series of natural disasters pulls him away from peace. He worries that his enemy is breaking out of the underworld, and if that happens, it will mean one thing—war. Ra will do what he can to prevent that, and in the meantime, maybe it’s time for him to see what he’ll be saving.
Frey is a minor god in his pantheon, and he likes things that way. After exposing himself to Odin’s wrath by helping save Loki, he moves to Finland, hoping to find peace. He does, but he also finds Ra, one of the most powerful gods of the Egyptian pantheon, wandering around.
Frey takes Ra under his wing, but they can’t ignore what’s happening outside their corner of the world even as they fall in love. Frey is having visions of a giant snake, and Ra knows exactly who it is. Together, they’ll have to find Apophis’s ally to stop the natural disasters, but even if they do, it’ll only be the beginning of the fight.
