Hop against Homophobia, Bi- and Transphobia May 17-24 2015 #HAHABT

HAHABT 2015

Today May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. http://dayagainsthomophobia.org/

115 authors,  bloggers, cover designers, reviewers, publishers are participating in the hop. All of them will offer a prize, including me. I’m giving away 2 copies of whatever book in the Whitedell Pride Series the winners want, including Andrew, which is not out yet. All you have to do is leave a comment and your email under this post  so I can contact you if you win. The contest will end on May 24th.

Some facts:

At least 81 countries in the world consider homosexuality to be illegal. In 10 of those, it’s punished with the death penalty. That means about 40% of the world population isn’t free to choose who they love and live in fear. Even in those countries where homosexuality isn’t illegal, sexual and gender minorities often have to face violence and repression.

Most countries don’t legally recognize trans and gender variant people’s true gender.

113 countries have laws ‘allowing’ homophobia.

Only 19 countries allow marriage between people of the same sex, some only regionally. 14 countries recognize civil partnership for same-sex couples. 21 countries allow LGBT adoption.

Help us spread awareness of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.

You can find the entire list of participating blogs on the main hop page. http://hopagainsthomophobia.blogspot.com/

  1. Heartbreaking statistics and perhaps I can quote a more hopeful statistic more than 62% of people in Ireland voted in favour of amending the country’s constitution to allow same gender couples to marry. Thank you for being part of this blog hop ❤ slholland22 {at} hotmail {dot} com
